It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of former first division midfielder Jimmy Mann at the age of 73.
A true legend of Bristol City, Mann began his football journey with Leeds United and made a remarkable 283 appearances for the Robins over his 14-year career.

During his eight-year stint at Bristol City, he found the back of the net 45 times across 283 matches.
Notably, on February 3, 1982, he made headlines by tearing up his contract to help the club avoid bankruptcy, prioritizing the team’s future over his own career.
This act of integrity cemented his status as a beloved figure in Bristol City’s history.
The club paid tribute with a touching message on social media: “We are deeply saddened to hear of Jimmy Mann’s passing at the age of 73. Rest in peace, Jimmy.”
