Johannesburg – A remarkable track from the collaborative Soul Buddies album by renowned producers Yumbs and Zwayetoven, titled Izimangaliso, featuring Kailey Botman and Khanyisa, is captivating audiences nationwide.
With its uplifting message of miracles and hope amidst challenges, the song has struck a chord on social media and streaming platforms, garnering over 230,000 streams to date.
Izimangaliso, which means “miracles” in isiZulu, speaks to the resilience of the human spirit and a belief in brighter days ahead; themes that resonate deeply with fans.
Its soulful, emotive performance paired with rich, layered Amapiano production has established it as a modern anthem of encouragement.
The track is a part of Soul Buddies, the collaborative project launched last year by multi-platinum producer Yumbs and emerging Amapiano star Zwayetoven.
The 21-track album made an immediate impact upon its debut, receiving widespread praise for its musicality and collaborative depth.
So far, the album has exceeded 1.6 million streams, highlighting the duo’s knack for crafting a sound that is both reminiscent and forward-looking.
Soul Buddies boasts an impressive lineup of South Africa’s top talents, including MaWhoo, Mthunzi, Ami Faku, Nasty C, and Shekhinah.
A notable highlight of the project was With You — a groundbreaking collaboration between Nasty C and Shekhinah, marking their entry into the Amapiano genre.
The song premiered at an exclusive media listening event, earning a standing ovation and widespread acclaim.
Rooted in the refined sounds of “Private School” Amapiano, Soul Buddies transcends mere musical release; it celebrates friendship, artistry, and South African sonic heritage.
The album’s title pays homage to the cherished youth TV series Soul Buddyz, reflecting the duo’s creative journey that began at the National School of the Arts.
Currently engaged in his second official Clubhouse series, Yumbs has manifested his vision through the Yamborghini Club — a curated experience held every last Sunday at La Familia Street Culture in Sandton.
The latest edition in April drew a sold-out crowd, all eager to experience Yumbs’ distinctive perspective on private school Amapiano. As he continues to explore and contribute to the culture,
Yumbs is dedicated to establishing his voice within the Amapiano movement. Stay tuned on social media for updates on the next Yamborghini Club event.
