Garnacho Sets His Sights on Exceeding Ronaldo’s Record
Alejandro Garnacho has shown his commitment to Manchester United and is close to surpassing one of his idol Cristiano Ronaldo’s records, writes MARTIN BLACKBURN.
The Argentine has downplayed the comparisons with Ronaldo while nearing one of the Portuguese star’s major milestones.

However, he recognizes that these comparisons will probably persist as long as he wears the United jersey. After all, it was Ronaldo who assisted Garnacho’s first goal for the Red Devils back in November 2022.
When the six-time Ballon d’Or winner departed Old Trafford for the last time shortly after, the Stretford End immediately began chanting his song in honor of Garnacho. Yet, he wouldn’t want it any other way.
Garnacho also mirrored Ronaldo’s iconic celebration after netting an overhead kick against Everton and was spotted wearing CR7-themed underwear during a cup match at Wigan last season.
He certainly understands the opportunity to outshine his idol before the season wraps up.
Ronaldo had 25 goal contributions in the Premier League before turning 21, and following his goal in Sunday’s match against Brentford, Garnacho is now just one goal away.
