Before his untimely demise, Brooks-Meade had suffered a stroke and a brain hemorrhage a month prior.
He was integrated into Fulham’s youth setup, often playing for their reserve squad, though he didn’t make a full debut.
A loan stint at AFC Wimbledon in 2007 preceded a near-deal with Bournemouth after being released by Fulham.
Instead, he found success in Cyprus, playing for several clubs during his time there.
Brooks-Meade also represented the Montserrat national team, earning 23 caps.
During his international career, he developed a deep friendship with team captain Lyle Taylor, a striker for Colchester.
Taylor shared with the Daily Mail: “When you lose someone your age, someone with whom you’ve shared many years and seen them evolve as both a player and a person, it hits hard.
“I know it sounds cliché, but Corrin was truly a leader. He was consistent. Honestly, he was probably the best among us.”
“He was an extraordinary person, and we are all thankful for the special moments we had with him.”
Fans have expressed their sadness with comments like: “So heartbreaking. My condolences to the family.”
Another added: “Devastating news. He was a great player for us, completely shocked by this.”
One more supporter commented, “Rest in peace, Corrin. It’s heartbreaking to hear of your passing, my friend.”
A GoFundMe page has been set up in his honor, with many supporters and former teammates contributing.
Even after retiring from club football in 2021, Brooks-Meade continued to play for Montserrat until last year.
Post-retirement, he focused on an Afro-Caribbean food business he started in Cyprus.
His uncle, Raphael Meade, played for Arsenal from 1981 to 1985.
