Inter triumphed over Barca with a score of 4-3, narrowly avoiding elimination after Raphinha’s dramatic goal in the 87th minute nearly gave Barcelona a chance in Munich, following a 3-3 draw in the first leg.
However, Francesco Acerbi’s equalizing goal in the third minute of added time brought the match into extra time.
Frattesi then stepped up in the 99th minute, earning a spot for Simone Inzaghi’s team in their second Champions League final in three years.
Previously, they had lost 1-0 to Manchester City in 2023, with Rodri scoring the only goal.
During his post-match chat with CBS, Frattesi had pundits Thierry Henry, Micah Richards, and Jamie Carragher in stitches with his remarks.
Henry commended the midfielder, saying: “I didn’t see a man that was nervous; I saw a guy that was composed to finish at that time, in that tie, in that game.”
“What was going through your mind at that moment?” the former Arsenal star inquired from CBS’ London studio.
In response, the match-winner Frattesi, speaking from the pitchside at the San Siro, humorously said: “I don’t know.

“Maybe I thought, ‘If I don’t score, I’m f***ed!’”
This comment elicited laughter from the Italian and the CBS pundits.

Presenter Kate Scott nervously glanced at the crew behind the camera after Frattesi’s gaffe.
Meanwhile, Henry buried his face in his hands on the desk to stifle his laughter.
Inter faced a tough path to the final, even with a lead going back to the San Siro.
The hosts let slip a two-goal advantage created by Lautaro Martinez and Hakan Calhanoglu’s goals.
Eric Garcia and Dani Olmo brought Barca level on the night, before former Leeds United winger Raphinha’s strike sent the tie into extra time.
In the end, it was Frattesi’s moment to shine, expertly finding the far corner of the net, leaving Wojciech Szczesny unable to react in goal for Barca.
