Johannesburg SuperSport has secured the broadcasting rights for the Netball Series featuring Jamaica and South Africa.

In a brief statement released on Saturday, (18 January 2025), SuperSport expressed its enthusiasm, announcing, “We are thrilled to inform you that Your World of Champions, SuperSport, has acquired the broadcast rights for South Africa’s tour of Jamaica for the three-Test Margaret Beckford Sunshine netball series.”

The series is set to commence in Kingston, Jamaica, on Sunday, (19 January 2025).

The Spar Proteas wrapped up the year 2024 on a high note, finishing as the top-ranked team in Africa.

They will now compete against the Sunshine Girls, who are currently ranked third in the world, behind Australia and New Zealand.

The matches in Jamaica are scheduled for January 19, 23, and 26, taking place at the National Indoor Sports Centre in Kingston.

This series is part of SuperSport’s prominent global #HereForHer campaign, which seeks to promote and celebrate women’s sports and women’s participation in sports.

The #HereForHer campaign was inaugurated during the 2023 Netball World Cup held in South Africa, where SuperSport made history by being the first broadcaster worldwide to use an all-female production crew (comprising 120 members) for an international tournament.
