Zuko Mdunyelwa, a defender for Mamelodi Sundowns, has reiterated the team’s commitment to winning the CAF Champions League title, successfully defending their Betway Premiership championship, and emerging victorious in the Nedbank Cup for a remarkable season.

The Tshwane giants have faced challenges this season, missing out on both the MTN 8 and the Carling Knockout under coach Manqoba Mngqithi’s leadership.

Nevertheless, the reigning league champions still have opportunities ahead in the Champions League, the Betway Premiership, and the Nedbank Cup.

“We should not linger on past results; our focus must be on what lies ahead,” Mdunyelwa stated.

“We remain in contention for the league title, the Champions League, and the Nedbank Cup. Our goal is to win everything that is still up for grabs, ensuring we have a successful campaign.”

The Brazilians are currently positioned second in Group B of the Champions League, while they lead the league standings with 30 points. In the Nedbank Cup, Sundowns will face Sibanye Golden Stars in the Last 32 round.

Additionally, the former Chippa United defender expressed his disappointment following their defeat in the Carling Knockout final.

“It was certainly disheartening to fall short in a final; as players, we have dreams and aspirations. If we reach the final, we should seize the opportunity to win,” Mdunyelwa remarked.

“Looking ahead to the Nedbank Cup draw, we have confidence in advancing against the team we’ve been matched against, even if we currently lack significant knowledge about them.”

“However, our technical staff will ensure we are thoroughly prepared for the match by analyzing their strengths and weaknesses.”

This Saturday afternoon, the Brazilians are set to host FAR Rabat at Loftus Stadium, where a draw will suffice for them to progress to the knockout stages.
