With Nasreddine Nabi at the helm, Kaizer Chiefs have utilized all three of their goalkeepers this season, raising significant concerns about their goalkeeping strategy. in goal.

Meanwhile, Bruce Bvuma has voiced his thoughts on the shortage of playing time with Amakhosi since the current season began.

This follows Bvuma’s role as the main goalkeeper towards the conclusion of the 2023/24 season; however, his position became uncertain due to the signing of Fiacre Ntwari from TS Galaxy during the transfer window.

Ntwari occupied the starting position for the first seven matches of the season but allowed nine goals during that span.

He was quickly succeeded by Brandon Petersen, who also encountered difficulties, conceding five goals in three matches, culminating in a 2-0 defeat to Polokwane City at Peter Mokaba Stadium.

Coach Nabi then granted Bvuma a chance in December against TS Galaxy, resulting in a 1-1 draw, followed by a victory over Chippa United and a recent loss to Cape Town City.

Despite the challenges faced by Chiefs’ goalkeeping department, Bvuma holds a positive perspective.

“I don’t perceive any issues with my limited appearances; it’s simply a matter of competition,” Bvuma remarked.

“The fight for a starting position in this squad is always intense due to the presence of international goalkeepers.

“One player may get selected, while others must bide their time; that’s the nature of football.

“It’s not an issue; it’s all about competition, and when one of us gets an opportunity, we must rally behind them.”

Bvuma and the Amakhosi are set to host Stellenbosch on Wednesday evening at FNB Stadium in a Betway Premiership clash.

The 29-year-old is optimistic that the Chiefs can secure all three points against the formidable side led by Steve Barker.

“Our preparations have been thorough for this game,” Bvuma noted.

“We simply need to uphold that mindset and concentrate on our game strategy. Historically, this approach has posed challenges for them.

“I genuinely believe that if we give our best, we will navigate any situation that arises.”

Amakhosi will be aiming for their first win of the year against Stellies.
