Recent reports suggest that LIVERPOOL is open to allowing Federico Chiesa to depart on loan this month.

Chiesa, who transferred from Juventus over the summer for a potential fee of £12.5m, has had difficulty securing consistent playing time with The Reds.

The Italian winger has been plagued by injuries and fitness problems, restricting him to just four appearances under Arne Slot since arriving in Merseyside.

Out of these matches, two were in the Carabao Cup, one in the Champions League, and he made a brief 18-minute appearance as a substitute in the Premier League.

According to reports from French outlet Foot Mercato, Chiesa is eager to secure a loan move from Liverpool to gain more consistent playing time.

Italian national team coach Luciano Spalletti is said to have informed the 27-year-old that a return to form in Italy could see him reinstated in the national squad.

Current Serie A leaders Napoli, under the management of Antonio Conte, are reportedly the primary candidates for his loan deal.

Though Fiorentina and Inter are also in the running, Napoli appears to be the frontrunner for his services.

Reports indicate that Chiesa’s agent, Fali Ramadani, has met with Liverpool representatives and they have come to an agreement regarding the forward’s loan exit this month.

However, several challenges may arise during the negotiation process.

Chiesa is reportedly earning £150,000 weekly, which is complicating matters, even though Liverpool is ready to cover part of the Italian’s wages.

Additionally, Napoli is interested in having a purchase option included in the loan deal, a notion Liverpool is hesitant to agree to.

Napoli is expected to propose a six-month loan in the forthcoming days as talks among all involved parties continue.

Liverpool manager Arne Slot has faced questions regarding Chiesa’s minimal playing time lately, explaining it through fitness issues.

He remarked: “Federico, as I’ve mentioned before, we are focusing on two main areas: his match fitness and gradually reintegrating him into the team.”

“He has been on the bench recently, but we deemed it more beneficial for him to participate in extra training rather than be included in the squad.”

“Finding the right equilibrium between enhancing his fitness and incorporating him into the team is crucial.”

Chiesa’s contract with Liverpool runs until the summer of 2028.

Any buy option embedded in a loan contract would likely need to exceed the £12.5m Liverpool originally paid last summer for a transfer to be considered.
