Modimolle – A 16-year-old girl is due to appear at Modimolle Magistrate’s Court in Limpopo, facing allegations of murdering her 24-year-old boyfriend.

The incident reportedly took place on New Year’s Day around 05:20 AM during a dispute between the couple.

According to police reports, the altercation started when the 24-year-old victim found his girlfriend with another man.

In a heated moment, the victim attacked his 16-year-old girlfriend until she managed to break free.

The police added that the man chased after the teenager and assaulted her again.

“She took a knife from her bag and stabbed her boyfriend, inflicting significant injuries,” the police report stated.

“He tried to return home but collapsed from his stab wounds at the intersection of Moloantoa and Selemela streets in Extension 8 Phagameng, in an open field in Modimolle.”

The victim’s friends were the ones who found his body.

Emergency Medical Services arrived at the location, and paramedics declared the man dead.

“A murder case has been initiated for further inquiry,” the police statement disclosed.

“The 16-year-old girl has been taken into custody and is scheduled to appear on January 3, 2024, at Modimolle Magistrate’s Court.”
