RUBEN AMORIM is reportedly pushing for Manchester United to acquire Viktor Gyokeres IMMEDIATELY.
The Old Trafford manager is said to be extremely concerned about United‘s attacking deficiencies, prompting him to seek significant investment this month rather than postponing until the summer.
Gyokeres, 26, is contracted to Sporting Lisbon until 2028, with a release clause believed to be around £80 million.
As per reports, Amorim is considering the possibility of offloading both Marcus Rashford and Joshua Zirkzee as part of a significant overhaul of his attacking roster.
Gyokeres is identified as the prime candidate to fill these potential gaps.
The Swedish striker has made a remarkable impact this season, netting 26 goals in 24 matches.
This includes an outstanding hat-trick as Sporting defeated Manchester City 4-1 in the Champions League two months ago.
Reports suggest that Sporting would entertain bids of between £62 million and £70 million for Gyokeres at the end of the current season.
If Manchester United submits a strong offer this month, it’s probable that the minimum required to satisfy the Portuguese club would be £80 million.
Amorim may also look to enhance his defensive lineup, particularly at left-back.

United is rumored to be considering Benfica’s Alvaro Fernandez, although the £25 million buy-back clause for the 21-year-old won’t activate until next summer.
Meanwhile, £86 million signing Antony is likely to depart as United, currently sitting in 14th place, aims to revitalize their squad.
Former club Ajax, Fenerbahce, and Real Betis are closely monitoring the Brazilian winger.
A loan transfer this January is certainly on the table for the 24-year-old.
