The Independent Police Investigative Directorate (IPID), which investigates allegations of death, rape, torture, and assault by police officers, has announced that the case against the officer is postponed until January 6, 2025.

IPID confirmed that the officer’s identity is being withheld until his court appearance and that he remains under police supervision while receiving medical care.

The suspect sustained injuries while allegedly attempting suicide prior to being charged with the murder of his girlfriend.

IPID has indicated that the police sergeant, accused of shooting the 22-year-old traffic warden through a kitchen window at her home in Eldorado Park, is expected to be well enough to appear in court in January 2025.

Witnesses report that they captured the shooting on a cellphone, and this footage has been submitted to IPID.
