MO SALAH played a key role in helping Liverpool extend their lead to eight points at the top of the Premier League, while simultaneously highlighting his contract situation.
The Egyptian forward netted one goal and assisted on two others as Arne Slot’s side scored five goals against West Ham.
Nonetheless, Salah, whose contract expires in the summer and can begin discussions with foreign clubs in just two days, acknowledged that reaching a new agreement with the Reds is still “far away.”
He stated: “No, we are quite a bit away from that, and I would prefer not to go into detail to prevent any speculation.”
“At this moment, my focus is on the team.”
“What matters most to me is for Liverpool to secure the league title; I simply want to help contribute to that.”
“My primary goal has been to win a trophy since the beginning of the season.”
“I will give my best for the team’s success; we are heading in the right direction. Other teams are starting to catch up to us, so we must remain focused and humble and keep striving forward.”
Luis Diaz opened the scoring, after which Salah assisted Cody Gakpo with a brilliant spin and then scored his own goal before halftime.
Trent Alexander-Arnold‘s deflected strike made it four before Salah provided the assist for Diogo Jota’s goal in the 84th minute.

Salah has maintained a remarkable streak of hitting at least 20 goals in every season with Liverpool, and he has scored and assisted in eight different league matches this season, setting a new record in the Premier League.
Slot remarked: “Mo and the word extraordinary have been closely linked over the past six months. He certainly deserves this recognition for the last eight years, but I can only comment on the past six months.”
“I don’t think he continues to surprise us; we are well aware of his talents and abilities.”
“Furthermore, he always puts in a hard effort for the team, even when the opponents control the ball, and we can only hope he maintains delivering these remarkable performances.”
“That said, I want to emphasize that whenever he scores, there’s always a buildup leading to that moment.”
“Other players help create opportunities for him, and when you give Mo those chances, he becomes truly exceptional.”
While Liverpool displayed their strength, West Ham struggled to pose any serious threat and left the pitch to boos at the London Stadium.
Manager Julen Lopetegui conveyed: “We have immense regrets for our fans. I sincerely regret this outcome. They undoubtedly deserve much more, and it’s been a tough day for us.”
“The fans have every right to feel the way they do, and we completely understand them.”
“We are striving to improve our competitiveness; sometimes we succeed, but we must do better in such home games as we navigate through the second half of the season.”
