Makwassi – Renowned artist Makhadzi has pointed fingers at the promoter for her no-show at the Makwassi Stadium in the North West.
Chaos erupted among fans on Boxing Day, (Thursday, 26 December 2024), when they learned that the “One Woman Show” performer would not be on stage.
Angry fans set fire to the stage, leading to considerable damage to the sound equipment.

In a statement released on Friday, (27 December 2024), Makhadzi Entertainment attributed the debacle to the promoter’s inability to meet their contractual commitments.
“It is crucial to understand that Makhadzi and her team receive details about events only after all payments have been settled, as stated in the contract,” the statement emphasized, clearly placing the blame for the unsuccessful show on the promoter.
Makhadzi Entertainment noted that while they had received a deposit, the remaining payments were not completed within the agreed two-week timeframe.
This resulted in Makhadzi Entertainment not notifying the Limpopo-born artist of her appearance for the Boxing Day show in the North West.
“We did not obtain the outstanding balance within the 14-day period,” stated Makhadzi Entertainment.
“We sincerely apologize to our dedicated fans in Makwasa.”
Moreover, Makhadzi Entertainment has not ruled out the possibility of a future performance in Makwassi.
“We look forward to seeing all of you soon,” the statement concluded.
However, it remains unclear who will be held responsible for the damages to the stadium, stage, and sound equipment.
