BEN FOSTER, the former goalkeeper for Manchester United, suggests that MARCUS RASHFORD could eventually find himself at an MLS club in the future.

Rashford, who is now 27, has fallen out of favor at Old Trafford under coach Ruben Amorim.

The winger has not been included in the last three matchday squads for United.

Rashford has expressed his desire for a new challenge and is believed to be available for around £40 million.

Nonetheless, Foster, at 41, thinks that the Red Devils will face difficulties in obtaining that figure.

During his Cycling GK podcast, he stated: “Marcus Rashford comes up often, and many people say, ‘on his day, on his day.’

“But that day comes around only once every ten games. Truly, it’s only once every ten. You can’t afford to keep a luxury player like that in modern football; it’s just not feasible.

“Furthermore, the added fame and expectations surrounding him make me question whether Mikel Arteta would be interested in acquiring him at Arsenal.

“He has to leave Manchester United. I imagine it would be an MLS move or something similar. A significant pay cut will be necessary.”

At present, Rashford is earning about £325,000 weekly, with his contract at United extending until the summer of 2028.

This season, he has made 15 appearances in the Premier League, netting four goals.

Foster pondered what could be hindering Rashford, saying: “Once that spark fades, can it be reignited? It needs to come from within, and I’m not sure he can find it again.

Ruben Amorim explains why Marcus Rashford remains sidelined at Man Utd despite ‘wanting to play’

“Moreover, the financial aspects complicate things further.

“When players secure lucrative contracts with guaranteed salaries over several years, it’s easy for them to lose their drive.

“The suggested £40 million asking price brings hesitancy. Not even £10 million? I wouldn’t entertain it… considering all the circumstances.”

Amorim, aged 39, was recently queried about Rashford’s situation by Sky Sports.

‘A CHALLENGING SITUATION’

The Portuguese coach noted: “It’s a challenging situation. I realize many players are surrounded by individuals making choices that might not align with the player’s original desires.

“I’m here to support Marcus just as I would with any other player. I must fulfill my responsibilities in this role.

“They opted for the interview because it isn’t solely Marcus’s issue. I understand that.

“As a coach, my focus is on performance and training. The rest can be addressed at an appropriate time for me and the club.”

Later today, Man Utd will face off against Wolves.

Rashford’s latest game was during the 2-1 win over Viktoria Plzen on December 12.
