LENNOX LEWIS has urged Tyson Fury to set up a matchup with Anthony Joshua, especially after Fury’s recent disappointing loss to Oleksandr Usyk.

In May, Usyk achieved a historic milestone by becoming the first fighter to defeat Fury, claiming a crucial split-decision victory in Saudi Arabia.

In a controversial rematch that took place in Riyadh, the Ukrainian fighter secured a unanimous decision victory with a score of 116-112, with Fury only managing to win four rounds.

Following Usyk’s consecutive victories and his desire for a rematch against Daniel Dubois, the legendary Lewis has suggested that the 35-year-old AJ should face Fury.

He shared his thoughts with TNT Sports: “He goes to London, the biggest fight in history, maybe Anthony Joshua.”

After the decision was revealed, Fury left the ring in frustration, raising concerns about his future, which promoter Frank Warren now must navigate.

Warren commented: “I’m unsure; he is very disheartened, just like I am.

“I’m not biased; it seemed that everyone present held the same view.”

When asked if the 36-year-old Fury would return to the ring, Warren replied: “That’s up to him.

“It’s too early; emotions are running high right after a fight. We’ll see. It’s strange. Can you really say he only won four rounds out of eight?”

Dubois, 27, confronted Usyk, 37, aggressively after losing their previous match in 2023 due to a disputed low blow.

Lewis commented, “He can retire if he wants. He can do whatever he prefers; he is the champion.

“I wouldn’t want to announce that a rematch will happen only to discover it doesn’t.”
