Pretoria – The City of Tshwane has announced an emergency power shutdown affecting the Rosslyn area.

“Residents in proximity to the Rosslyn 132/11kV Substation are hereby advised of an emergency power outage scheduled for today, (22 December 2024), to allow for the maintenance of electrical components in the vicinity,” the City stated clearly.

“For safety considerations, the City deemed it necessary to suspend the power supply for a period of 12 hours.

“This essential work is anticipated to be finalized by 00:00.”

The City of Tshwane has specified that the following areas and businesses will be affected:

  • BMW
  • BEVA
  • August/Leaple (MA)
  • Nedbank
  • ASEA
  • Rautenbach

“Customers are urged to treat all equipment as if it is still live. The City regrets this unavoidable power supply disruption,” the statement issued on Sunday, (22 December 2024) emphasized.
