Durban – A man tragically lost his life in a car crash on the M1 West Bound near the Unit 3 offramp in Chatsworth, located south of Durban.

According to spokesperson Garrith Jamieson, ALS Paramedics were on the scene shortly after 16:30 on Friday, (20 December 2024).

“Upon arrival, paramedics found that a single vehicle had veered off the road and lost control,” Jamieson explained.

“They discovered the driver, the only occupant of the vehicle, inside with severe injuries.”

“Unfortunately, there was nothing that paramedics could do for the man, believed to be in his thirties, and he was declared dead at the scene.”

Jamieson remarked that the events leading up to the accident are currently under investigation.

The South African Police Service was at the scene to assist.
