Ronnie O’Sullivan’s match risks being postponed after the snooker was delayed

Matches are experiencing delays in Saudi Arabia, with reports indicating a one-hour setback.

A statement from the WST mentioned: “This afternoon’s session will commence at 6 PM local time, 3 PM GMT.”

“Mark Allen will face Mark Selby for a chance to win the 167 prize and secure a spot in tomorrow’s semi-final.”

“The second match is scheduled to start at 7 PM local time, 4 PM GMT.”

No reason has been provided for the delay as of yet.

This may impact O’Sullivan’s match with Ding, which is set for 9 PM local time – 11 PM UK time.

The semi-final featuring the seven-time world champion could potentially be postponed entirely to another date.

Judd Trump scores 500 POINTS in a row in one match at the UK Championship – but falls short of Ronnie O’Sullivan’s record

This news comes just hours after play was interrupted due to the arena being thrown into darkness.

Zhang Anda was competing against Ahmed Aseeri when the lighting started flickering.

This year’s snooker event in Riyadh began with an impressive $1 MILLION (£780,000) incentive offered to the first player to score a 167.

Fans humorously engaged with Zhang as he attempted this achievement – organizers swiftly worked to resolve the lighting issue.

One viewer commented: “This lighting problem is absurd; I empathize with Anda, as it could greatly hinder his focus while aiming for the 147/167.”
