AMAD DIALLO left Manchester City in disbelief as he turned the tide in the derby.

The agile winger earned a vital penalty, which Bruno Fernandes coolly converted in the final moments to equalize the score.

The crowning moment was when Amad skillfully flicked the ball past a rushing Ederson, slotting in a dramatic winner from a tight angle deep into stoppage time.

Here’s how SunSport’s Neil Custis rated the Man Utd players…

Andre Onana – 6

He doesn’t instill much confidence; he struggles to command his area, and as seen earlier in Plzen, his distribution can often benefit the opposition.

Nevertheless, he faced very few challenges.

Lisandro Martinez – 7

Displayed a calmer presence under Amorim than previously, stepping away from his Ajax persona ‘The Butcher of Amsterdam’.

Delivered an outstanding through ball at the end to assist Amad’s crucial goal.

Harry Maguire – 8

Had a fantastic battle with Erling Haaland, coming out on top.

Bringing back the former captain for such an important match proved to be an astute decision. He seems well-suited to a central role in that back three.

Matthijs de Ligt 78′ – 7

Produced a solid performance. Looked more comfortable alongside Maguire than with other center-back partners.

Diogo Dalot – 5

Failed to time his jump correctly, allowing Josko Gvardiol to head in City’s first goal. He didn’t provide enough support in attack as a wing-back.

Bruno Fernandes – 8

Missed a crucial chance after being set up by Hojlund, shooting wide.

However, he displayed great composure when given a penalty, sending Ederson the wrong way to level the score.

Manuel Ugarte – 7

Positioned himself effectively in front of the back four, successfully countering much of Phil Foden’s impact for City.

Noussair Mazraoui 78′ – 8

Was the standout performer among the summer signings. Played right wing-back this time and showcased his versatility across various roles. One of United’s best players that day.

Mason Mount 13′ – 6

Looked visibly distraught after his early exit. He has been dealing with ongoing injury issues and has yet to find consistent form since his arrival at the club.

Amad Diallo 90′ – 9

Delivered the most memorable moment of his career to date with a stunning derby-winning goal. He made a brilliant run to meet Martinez’s pass, lifted it over Ederson, and although it was slightly mishit, it found the target.

He almost scored earlier with a flick header that was well saved by Ederson.

He also reacted swiftly to Nunes’ back pass, resulting in the penalty that led to United’s equalizer.

Rasmus Hojlund 78′ – 6

Most of his contributions involved a physical confrontation with Walker and a slight fall while attempting to win a penalty.

However, he made a brilliant pass to Fernandes, which should have resulted in an equalizer.

Subs

Kobbie Mainoo 13′ – 6

Excelled in a deeper role after replacing Mount, providing support as Fernandes pushed forward.

Joshua Zirkzee 78′ – 6

Not a match-changer, but skillfully retained possession in the closing moments.

Antony 78′ – 6

Attempted to make an impact but seemed to lack confidence due to limited playing time.

Leny Yoro 78′ – 6

Is still working towards full fitness following his injury earlier this summer.

Victor Lindelof 90′ – 6

Had little opportunity to make a significant impact on the match.
