The Placepot enables you to bet by selecting a horse to be placed in the FIRST SIX races of any meeting.

You have the option to select multiple horses in a race—the number of selections determines your stake. For instance, staking is calculated as 2x2x2x1x2x2, totaling 32 lines.

You can stake any amount starting from just 5p a line, which totals £1.60. A 10p investment per line amounts to £3.20, and so forth. As long as at least one horse places in each race, you’re in for potential payouts!

Cheltenham Placepot tips – Friday, December 13th

LEG 1: That’s Nice, Country Mile

THAT’S NICE is set to take advantage of the 7lb allowance she receives from the boys, displaying great potential with her win at Warwick last month. Nico De Boinville hardly needed to urge her as she accomplished a smart victory, and she can improve on that promising effort.

COUNTRY MILE put forth a strong performance in a Haydock Grade 2 last month, although a mistake at the final flight cost him significantly. The drier ground should benefit the Skelton contender, who still has ample opportunity for enhancement.

LEG 2: Caldwell Potter, Jango Baie

CALDWELL POTTER began to validate his hefty purchase price with an impressive win on his chase debut at Carlisle 12 days ago. He jumped adeptly and is anticipated to exhibit considerable improvement from that outing. Previously a Grade 1 performer over hurdles, he appears difficult to defeat.

JANGO BAIE was also a commendable performer over hurdles and was unfortunate to finish second last seen at Aintree. Nicky Henderson has been speaking positively about his schooling.

LEG 3: Valgrand, Tintintin

VALGRAND will feel much more comfortable back over this distance, having commenced the season with a Grade 2 win on the Old course. He won by 17 lengths there but found the emerging talent Potters Charm too dominant over 2m5f last time here. Despite carrying top weight, his initial rating might be generous, and he excels on good ground.

TINTINTIN put forth a solid effort with a strong fourth-place finish in the Greatwood Hurdle here last month. He returns from the same mark, presenting commendable place prospects once again.

LEG 4: Chianti Classico

CHIANTI CLASSICO possesses enough quality to give weight following his spectacular comeback victory at Ascot last month. He showcased his abilities by winning the Ultima at this year’s Festival and performed admirably in an Aintree Grade 1. His remarkable jumping remains his standout feature, and trainer Kim Bailey has started the season impressively.

LEG 5: Shan Blue, Shakem Up’Arry

SHAN BLUE displayed a couple of robust performances towards the end of last season and registered a solid fourth on his return at Bangor last time out. He traveled well for a significant portion of the race on challenging ground and will benefit from the anticipated better conditions. While slightly inconsistent, this is his first foray into a veterans’ race, which could finally bring out the best in him from a declining mark.

SHAKEM UP’ARRY often performs well after a break and claimed the Festival Plate during his last visit to Cheltenham. He carries an extra 6lbs today but remains a formidable competitor.

LEG 6: Mister Coffey, Delta Work

MISTER COFFEY earns one last chance from me to secure a victory over fences. He made a solid return after a nine-month hiatus on the cross-country course last time. Despite finishing strongly in second, the winner had already pulled ahead. With Nico De Boinville now aware of his stamina, he can position the Nicky Henderson chaser closer in the race, and his weight has decreased suitably.

DELTA WORK boasts an impressive record here and poses a considerable threat. Although he showed a bit of rust on his return at Down Royal last month, he is expected to demonstrate his true class. With Rob James lowering his weight by 7lbs, he’s not even carrying the top burden.
