Johannesburg – The African National Congress (ANC) has triumphantly regained Ward 30 in Roossenekal, Sekhukhune, Limpopo, securing an impressive 71% of the vote in the latest by-elections.

“After an outstanding performance in various by-elections across the nation, the ANC is celebrating another significant success in the recent by-elections in the Elias Motsoaledi Local Municipality,” announced spokesperson Mahlengi Bhengu-Motsiri in a formal statement.

“The ANC achieved 71% of the votes in Ward 30, Roossenekal, showing a remarkable rise from 37%.”

The election results were as follows:

  • African National Congress: 71% (up from 37%)
  • Economic Freedom Fighters: 22% (down from 47%)
  • MK Party: 6%
  • MAC: 1% (down from 2%)
  • Bolsheviks: <1%
  • TRUTH: <1%

This victory is especially significant as it represents a decisive reclaiming of the Ward from the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF).

“This victory is a powerful affirmation of the community’s trust in the ANC, reflecting the strength of our movement and the electorate’s confidence in our ability to deliver essential services and create a capable local government that meets its service obligations,” the statement stressed.

“We encourage communities to work with the ANC to reclaim lost ground, collaborate towards a common vision of a better future, and improve the overall quality of life.”
