MOHAMED SALAH is said to be close to finalizing a new contract with Liverpool.
The Egyptian winger’s present deal with the Reds, which was inked in June 2017, is set to conclude at the end of this season.
Salah, 32, stated late last month that the club hadn’t yet approached him regarding a contract extension on Merseyside.
Nevertheless, it appears that the Reds’ management has made a fresh contract proposal to the Egyptian international.
This information comes from The Mirror, which reports that Salah is close to wrapping up a new two-year deal at Anfield.
Salah allegedly requested a three-year contract to secure his future with the club, but the Reds were initially only proposing a one-year extension.
However, it is believed that both sides have come to a “compromise” on a two-year agreement.
The speculation surrounding Salah’s forthcoming two-year contract follows remarks from former Egyptian international Haytham Farouk, who claimed that the ex-Chelsea and Roma player had already signed a new deal.
