TEAM EUROPE celebrated joyfully after their victory in the Mosconi Cup.
Europe defeated Team USA with a result of 11-6, achieving their fifth successive title in Florida.
Jayson Shaw triumphed over fellow captain Skyler Woodward with an impeccable score of 5-0, extending the continent’s lead to five points and starting the night at 10-5.
Fedor Gorst secured a single point, but Francisco Sanchez Ruiz later edged out Woodward 5-4, sealing the victory.
Once Ruiz pocketed the deciding ball, he and his teammates celebrated by dancing on top of the table to the tune of ‘Freed From Desire’ in front of a disappointed US snooker audience.
This was an incredible milestone for Shaw, as he claimed the trophy in his debut as captain.
The Scot stated: “I appreciate everyone who came out to support us.
“It has been a challenging experience, requiring significant effort this year. We prepared extensively prior to this event.
“It has been a pleasure having them on my team, and I eagerly await the next opportunity.”
Team USA captain Woodward acknowledged the skill of his opponents while expressing pride in his own team.
