It is with great sadness that we report the passing of Australian tennis legend Neale Fraser at the age of 91.

Tributes have flooded in from across the globe for the late Fraser, with a heartfelt message from his former competitor and fellow Australian great, Rod Laver.

Laver expressed his sorrow on X, stating: “I am profoundly saddened to hear of the loss of my dear friend and fellow left-handed player, Neale Fraser.

“He was an extraordinary talent during a remarkable era of Australian tennis – an incredible World No.1, a Grand Slam champion, and a true symbol of the Davis Cup.”

“Neale defeated me in 2 significant finals, which motivated me to elevate my own game.”

“My deepest condolences go to Thea and Neale’s extended family. I will miss you dearly, my friend. Rest in peace.”
