The echoes of Upton Park now resonate through a residential complex, an iconic statue, and more than a century of cherished memories.
West Ham celebrated their extensive history at the Boleyn Ground for over 102 years before relocating in 2016.
The Hammers said an emotional goodbye to their beloved ground after securing a 3-2 win against Manchester United in May 2016.
Since then, their football journey has continued a few miles away in Stratford, largely leaving their past community behind.
A section of Upton Park was demolished for the 2018 film Final Score, starring Pierce Brosnan and Dave Bautista.
The entire site was eventually cleared to make way for 842 new apartments.
SunSport reported last year that the legacy of the area and its community impact is honored, with the residential complex showcasing a “bubbles” motif inspired by the club’s popular anthem “Forever Blowing Bubbles.”
The Upton Gardens development offers various property types, starting at £350,000 for a one-bedroom apartment and approximately £500,000 for a two-bedroom maisonette.
West Ham’s departure has significantly impacted the local community.
Nathan’s Pie and Eels, a legendary matchday haunt, permanently closed in 2018, just two years after the team’s relocation.

Many local businesses have also closed or struggled to survive.
A striking statue of Bobby Moore, Geoff Hurst, Martin Peters, and Ray Wilson triumphantly holding the World Cup trophy stands proudly at the corner of Green Street and Barking Road.
After relocating to Stratford, West Ham hoped to move the statue as well.
However, Newham Council chose to support fans who wanted it to stay where it is.
As reported by The Athletic, many dedicated West Ham supporters still frequent The Boleyn Tavern on match days, which is a 40-minute journey by public transport from the London Stadium.
In preparation for the upcoming Premier League clash against Arsenal, one fan remarked: “I’d rather spend my money here to support the pub.”
“Consider all the customers they have lost over the years. West Ham’s relocation has greatly impacted the area.
“When I’m asked if West Ham is at home this week, I respond, ‘No, they’re away in Stratford.’ We no longer have a home ground.”
“The atmosphere at the London Stadium is dreadful, and the away fans dominate us every week.”
Since leaving Upton Park, West Ham has attained significant achievements, including winning the Europa Conference League in 2023.
Nevertheless, many fans still feel disconnected from their current stadium.
In the end, a vital piece of the club’s legacy will forever be tied to E13, where 842 apartments now overshadow over a century of history.
