On Sunday morning, a devastating bus crash occurred on the N1 near Roux Park, Worcester, claiming the lives of at least eight people, including six children.
The Western Cape government confirmed that the bus, which was en route from the Eastern Cape to Cape Town, overturned at approximately 07h15.

Emergency Teams Mobilized for Response
Western Cape Mobility Minister Isaac Sileku expressed his condolences and provided updates on the situation.
“Preliminary reports suggest that eight individuals tragically lost their lives, six of whom were minors. Several passengers suffered injuries, with varying degrees of severity,” Sileku reported.
Emergency responders arrived promptly to deliver medical aid to those injured and to secure the scene of the accident.

“This is a heartbreaking incident, and our thoughts are with the families and friends of those who lost their lives today. We also hope for a speedy and full recovery for the injured,” Sileku added.
